Le peintre humaniste recounts Henri Landier's work from 2000 to 2014, a period during which he pays tribute to his friend Pierre Mac Orlan, the pictorial account of his years in the navy, the bohemian years in Montmartre shared with Monique Morelli, the discovery of the Mont Sainte-Victoire so dear to Cézanne, and the Pace movement developing in Italy in protest against the war in Iraq. The book concludes with a vast series of paintings based on Rembrandt's compositions, which were exhibited in Maastricht in the southern Netherlands.
